UPDATE: 'He Died Trying To Save His Son:' Remembering Family Killed By Amtrak Train In PA
Just before 6 p.m. on April 3, Bristol Borough police officers were called to the rail line for a report of a person on the tracks, Police Chief Joseph Moors said at a press conference.
When officers were on scene, they tried to go up on the rail line to remove subjects but didn’t get up in time, the chief said. The three individuals were struck and killed.
The Bucks County Coroner responded to the scene, working late into the night to reopen the northbound lane. The crash impacted service to Amtrak and SEPTA trains, which share the same rail line at the station.
“This is absolutely a tragedy,” Moors said.
An update was expected Friday morning at approximately 9 a.m., the chief said.
